Investment / Donor Options

Specific projects looking for support include:

  • Tlholego Ecovillage – the main need, based on a growing demand for their services is to improve training infrastructure, staff capacity and food production systems. There is also a need to develop the residential housing and infrastructure and the land reform/ownership model, so as to be an inspiration for the growing Tlholego community and a powerful demonstration to training participants interested in sustainable lifestyles, and rural livelihoods. We also have a scholarship fund to support young leaders to attend our training programs. (Get Involved)
  • Thandanani – the main need is to develop and implement / demonstrate climate smart farming and land use practices. The foundation of any sustainable agriculture is a rainwater harvesting system that mitigates soil erosion, flooding and drought and directs water into the ground for storage and vegetation systems. In May 2012, Rucore implemented the first phase demonstration as well as helped to consolidate the wider rainwater harvesting collaboration with Ashoka fellows that Rucore is driving in Southern Africa. Rucore is also raising funds to support the implementation of compost toilets in all member homesteads. (Thandanani)
